Melissa is the Program Director for EdLeader21 and is responsible for coordinating and managing projects to support EdLeader21 member schools and districts.
Melissa began her career in El Paso, Texas, as a Case Manager for Child Protective Services. There she honed her organizational skills while working tirelessly as a child advocate. Upon moving to Tucson, Arizona, Melissa began working at the University of Arizona as an Evaluation Coordinator for an early childhood education research study. There she was responsible for overseeing the field activities, to include data collection and recruitment, of this large-scale study which aimed to investigate children’s readiness for school.
Melissa has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Arizona. She and her husband live in Tucson and are Dallas Cowboys super fans.
